Rand Paul wins GOP Kentucky senate primary

The Associated Press just called today's Kentucky's GOP U.S. Senate primary for Tea Party favorite, Dr. Rand Paul.  From Forbes:
Political novice Rand Paul rode support from tea party activists to victory in Kentucky's Republican Senate primary Tuesday night, delivering a jolt to the GOP establishment and providing fresh evidence of widespread voter discontent in a turbulent midterm election season.

Paul had 59 percent of the vote - with returns counted from 29 percent of the precincts - to 37 percent for Secretary of State Trey Grayson, who had been recruited to run by the state's dominant Republican, U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
On Fox News this morning, Grayson graciously committed that he would support Paul's campaign if he won today.

  1. Do you think Anderson Cooper is chocking on a "Tea Bagger" right about now?

  2. Yes. Obviously political novices are doing this country a world of good right now. We should have more of those. Doesn't the Tea Party loathe the current political novice running the country? Political novice is no different on the right or left. This ought to go well. At least we know Ron Paul has a Libertarian voice now disguised as his kid. Let's hope Dad is really pulling the strings here.
